Far Cry 4 is a popular first-person shooter that takes place in a fictional Himalayan country called Kyrat.

If you are a fan of the Far Cry series, then you are sure to love the fourth installment of this popular franchise. Far Cry 4 is an eye-catching game that is set in a fictional Himalayan country, and your primary goal is to help that country overthrow a ruthless dictator who is plundering the land for its resources. While this installment is very similar to Far Cry 3, the development team over at Ubisoft was able to include a handful of new tools and features that give this game a fresh look and feel.

Anyone who has played a Far Cry title in the past will quickly be able to master the basic controls and functions in Far Cry 4. In this game, you are thrown into a massive civil war in a country called Kyrat, and you will need to help the people take their land back from an evil despot. As you progress through the game, the story is going to build momentum, and you will eventually find yourself standing in front of the dictator’s fortress.

Before you meet the dictator for the final battle, you must thoroughly explore the land and work your way through a variety of side missions. Just like many of the other Far Cry games, some of those missions are extremely engaging while others are relatively bland. Luckily, the development team has included some new tools and items while bringing back many old favorites. One mission might have you target a bridge that needs to be destroyed while another will force you to protect a rebel convoy.

Within Kyrat, there are four separate fortresses, and you will eventually need to take those strongholds down to beat the game. What is most surprising about the fortresses is just how well-protected they are. You will need to come up with a practical and efficient strategy before you storm the walls. If long-range combat is your preference, then you might want to take the guards out with a sniper rifle before moving in with explosive. Those who are a fan of intense combat can directly attack the fortresses with a mini helicopter or any other number of vehicles.

One of the reasons why Ubisoft decided to increase the difficulty in this game is because they wanted to encourage co-op gameplay. Your friend will be able to hop into your campaign and help you complete side quests or take over the fortresses. Far Cry 4 also has a brand new competitive lineup of game types ranging from capture the flag to simple deathmatches.

The multiplayer matches can be fun and the storyline is engaging, but the graphics are what truly set this game apart. Kyrat is a beautiful world that is filled to the brim with exotic creates and eye-catching locations. You will be able to lose yourself for hours as you explore huge caves or try to scale towering mountains. This game is a must-have title for anyone who is a fan of strategic first-person shooters that are set in expansive worlds.
